Tenant Advisory Associates
Ethos Tenant Co. is a boutique Washington D.C. metropolitan-based commercial real estate leasing agency that specializes in turnkey tenant representation solutions. We pride ourselves in our ability to bring our client’s unique ethos to life through office space and ultimately turning their offices lease into a business tool by creating experiential workplaces their companies thrive in.
We are looking for a sharp, sales-oriented individual to excel as a Tenant Advisory Associate. Based in Tysons Corner, Virginia, the Tenant Advisory Associate's primary responsibility will be working at the corporate management level (i.e. CEO, CFO, COO) by generating new business. Additional responsibilities will include preparing market surveys, conducting market research, and existing account management. With our substantial growth over the past few years, the Tenant Advisory Associate will assume unusually significant levels of responsibility requiring a high degree of maturity, self-confidence, motivation, and analytical ability. The work is exciting and particularly challenging, especially during the first year, and earning potential for successful candidates is well into the six-figure range during the second year.
All associates participate in our training development program that includes service and product knowledge seminars, negotiating and prospecting skill development, commercial real estate consulting and transaction advisory training along with self-guided tutorials on other topics. Our associates are also assigned to a carefully chosen senior mentor who is ultimately responsible for teaching all aspects of the business and ensuring success.
Our firm seeks candidates with the ability to work hard in a fast-paced, autonomous corporate environment, and thrive on competition through high-level prospecting activity. Tenant Advisory Associates come from a wide variety of backgrounds; however, individuals with successful stock brokerage, life insurance, software and/or outside sales experience have done especially well in our business. We will also consider exceptional recent college graduates with a background showing leadership, entrepreneurial skills and social networking ability such as involvement in a fraternity/sorority, or leadership through athletics. It is in the Candidate’s best interest to have minimal financial obligations during the first 18 months of employment as the position is 100% commission based. Candidates do not need a real estate license before interviewing, but a Virginia real estate salesperson license must be acquired before transactions can be worked on and commissions earned. The firm will only hire those applicants who, in our opinion, have the ability and self-discipline to successfully develop new business through aggressive cold calling, canvassing, networking and transact this business to a profitable close.
Must have appropriate licensing before starting
Bachelor’s degree with any sales experience or experience in the commercial real estate industry, focusing on Tenant Representation a plus
Must have a strong interest in sales and exhibit basic selling skills
Must possess a highly professional presence and be a strong relationship builder
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be a reliable self-starter possessing self-assurance and self-discipline
At the associate level, our first interview is designed to help us get to know you and determine your fit with our firm. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions about us. The interview is held in our local office with both of our Co-Founders & Managing Principals.
